Short version: I don’t sell your information, I don’t do anything sneaky with it, and I only collect what I actually need. Here’s the longer version, in plain English.
What I collect, and why
When you contact me. If you fill out the contact form, I get your name, your email address, and whatever you write. I use it to read your message and reply. Nothing else.
When you sign up for emails. If you join the email list, I collect your email address. Those signups are handled through MailerLite, the service I use to send newsletters. Every email I send has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave anytime.
When you just visit. Like almost every website, this one collects basic, anonymous information about visits: which pages get read, roughly what part of the world you’re in, and what device or browser you used. It comes through Google Analytics and it’s aggregate. It tells me what people actually read. It doesn’t tell me who you are.
Cookies
This site uses a few small files called cookies to help pages load properly and to power that anonymous analytics. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in your settings if you’d rather. The site still works without them.
Who else touches your information
I don’t sell your data and I never will. A handful of services help run the site and handle some information on my behalf: WP Engine hosts the website, MailerLite manages the email list, Google Analytics handles the visitor stats, and WPForms delivers and stores messages sent through the contact form. Each has its own privacy practices, and I only work with services that take this seriously.
Your choices
You’re in control of your information. You can unsubscribe from emails anytime using the link in any message. You can ask me what information I have about you. And you can ask me to delete it. For any of these, reach me through the contact form and I’ll take care of it.
Changes to this page
If how I handle information ever changes, I’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you want to ask about your own information, reach me through the contact form. A real person, me, reads it.
